Jeff is General Manager for Valcourt Building Services, a premier Window Cleaning and Waterproofing company in the industry.  With local offices in Richmond and Virginia Beach, Valcourt focuses on providing comprehensive building exterior maintenance programs and window washing compliance support capabilities.  With over 10 years of service in the Commercial Real Estate industry, he has been an active IFMA member for 11 years.  Jeff’s past chapter duties include managing the annual charity golf tournament and served as Vice President from 2010-2011.

Tom is President and Owner of ServiceMaster Services, Inc., a leading commercial janitorial services firm serving the Richmond metropolitan area and one of the five largest ServiceMaster Clean janitorial franchises in the country. Founded in 1974, it focuses on cleaning 50,000 to 500,000 square foot buildings in both urban and suburban locations. With 400 employees and a portfolio of over 6 million square feet, it is large enough to take on new accounts of any size or scope. Tom has served as Treasurer of the Chapter from 2008-2011.

Jim is the Supervisor-Facilities for Projects and Contract Services at Dominion where he has worked for 27 years, of which 21 have been in Facilities Management. The Projects side of his group, oversees the design, construction, renovations and move management in their company's VA and NC footprint. The Contract Services side of his group handles services such as janitorial, landscaping, pest control, waste pickup, etc. Jim is a Past Co-Chair of the Career Networking Committee, Secretary, Vice President and President of the Chapter.

Ken is the Data Center Facilities/Hardware Manager for Lender Processing Services where he has worked since 2009. The job duties include supporting mission critical infrastructure at 3 locations, coordinating IT hardware migrations, forecasting corporate infrastructure capacity, and managing disaster recovery site operations. Ken has over 15 years experience in commercial and industrial mission critical facilities operations. He has been a member of IFMA since 2000, joining the Richmond Chapter in 2006.

Ned has just retired from Pfizer where he was most recently Sr. Director Administrative Operations overseeing support of over a million square feet of very different spaces, such as manufacturing, product development, warehousing, and general office. Originally starting his career with the A H Robins company in finance, he became the Credit Manager and went on to hold other positions in Sales Administration, Auto Fleet and was President of an internally formed subsidiary (Rxpo) that provided design, fabrication, warehousing, and show coordination t the Trade Show business for profit.

He has been a devoted IFMA member for almost 20 years and has served on the board several times as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President.

Julie is a Regional Sales Representative with Office Furniture Rental Alliance, based in E. Hartford, CT and Fiora Furniture, an import line of casegoods & seating.  Both of which can be shipped in 48 hours to most any location in the US, she also sells the rental (used) as well. She does space planning, design, project management and schedules delivery and installations.With over 10 years in this position, she has had other roles as well in her industry, factory rep for Natl. Office Furniture, Kimball International and Director of Interior Design for Steelcase Dealer (8yr). She has been an active IFMA member for 3 years, Co-Chair Membership during that time and now.

Harvey is a Dominion Virginia Power Facilities Technician with the responsibility of operation and maintaining Dominion's Innsbrook Technical Center with a 400,000 +sq ft facility.  Harvey has been with Dominion for 5 years and has work with a number of different state agencies such as DGS and VDOT before Dominion.  Harvey joined IFMA in 2009 and he received his FMP designation in 2010. His responsibility as Co-Chair of Membership will be to continue to grow the chapter with Richmond’s professionals and associates within the Facility Management industry.

Matt Sobel is Director of Business Development for the Hilldrup Companies. He focuses on Commercial and Industrial relocations both locally and nationally. Hilldrup offers a full-range of moving and relocation services through the UniGroup family of companies, including United Van Lines, UniGroup Worldwide UTS, Primacy Relocation, and Allegiant Move Management. Elizabeth is the Facilities Lead for Markel Corporation. She has been with Markel for 11 years and handles the day to day facilities duties for 3 buildings located in Innsbrook which currently houses employees. Her recent job duties have expanded into helping to standardize all offices for Markel accross North America. She has been a member of IFMA since 2006 and has served on the board as hospitality co-chair for the past 4 years.

Bud is a strong advocate for our IFMA Richmond Chapter. Bud is retired as a Maintenance Manager from Circuit City Stores. Before that position, he was a Senior Director of Maintenance & Utilities for Best Products. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Operations for Basco and worked for the Philadelphia Department of Recreation as Manager of Philadelphia Veterans Stadium. He has a B.S. in Physical Education, Springfield College, and a M.A. in Recreation Administration, New York University. Bud has been a dedicated Member of IFMA-Richmond Chapter since 1984. He has been on various committees and very involved with the board. Bud is a CFM, Past President (‘86, '87). We consider him our historian of our Chapter and has received IFMA Distinguished Member Award (’88).

Ranny is a retired as Director of Facilities with Dominion. He has been on our chapter board for many years, and we are glad that he is our volunteer for our highly detailed monthly newsletter. He is a charter member of the Richmond Chapter and is a Certified Facility Manager (CFM). After retiring in 1995, he consults on new construction work for Randolph Macon College.

Ranny is currently our Communications Chair which encompasses completing our monthly newsletter and overseeing our web site content and format.

Carla spent ten years in Facilities Management at Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio where her duties included space and project management, lease negotiation and operations management. She first became a member of IFMA as a student at Cornell University where she received an M.S. in Facilities Management. This year she re-joined IFMA as part of her active search to return to the work that she enjoys. She is now employed as an Assistant Project Manager with CB Richard Ellis.

Mark is Director of Business Development at C&W-TESCO, Inc. and is primarily responsible for developing strategic partnerships with other firms and relationships with building owners. He has been a member of IFMA for three years and is currently on the Board of Directors with responsibilities for Professional Development. Mark is also involved with BOMA, the James River Green Building Council (JRGBC) and the Virginia Biotechnology Association (VaBio). C&W-TESCO, Inc. is headquartered in Richmond, VA but operates extensively throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

Jane is Facilities Manager at Markel Corporation located in Innsbrook. She has been with Markel 15 years and been the Facilities Manager since 2005. The job duties include space management, project management, multi tenant leasing, contracts etc. Markel is a great place to work and Jane is passionate about her work.

Jane recently completed the requirements for her FMP designation. She has been a member of IFMA since 2005 and attended World Workplace in Dallas 2008 and in Orlando in 2009.

Originally from Englewood, Colorado, Tim has resided in Virginia for the past 31 years. As a member of the  US Navy he met Pamela and was married in 1980. Pamela retired from UPS Management after 32 years in 2009. Tim has been blessed with two children, Garland his Yogi and his daughter, and Michael, his son who is a Network Engineer. In 1986 he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management from Old Dominion University. Tim has worked in Real Property for 41 years in many capacities. Most recently he is the Facilities Director with Hermitage Country Club and have been with Hermitage for 8 years. Life is wonderful for Tim.
   
         
 

Barbe Shaffer, Chapter Administrator

Barbe has been Chapter Administrator since 2007 and has 20 years experience working as Construction Administration Administrator and Facilities Management Coordinator. In addition to project involvement, she assists in developing databases and MS Office training. She is also involved in CSI as their Chapter Secretary and a member of Society for Design Administrators (an Affiliate of AIA).

Barbe is an integral part of our board since she is the main person that handles the RSVP list, attendance fees, and greets our members and guests at the door of all events.
